RCode comes with a package manager which can
- Install packages with a full search on the CRAN ;
- Update packages ;
- Load and unload packages.
The installed packages are displayed in a list which can be filtered.
Install and Uninstall Packages
➕ on the top right opens the install manager.
There is two tabs. The second one, Archive, requires a local package archive file (like a .zip on Windows or .tar.gz on unix) to install it. In the first tab, CRAN, search on the CRAN among the available packages according to the given keyword (looking first in the title, then in the description of the packages).
With the sign
➕ of any package on the list, you can show the information on the CRAN or mark it to install. Install the chosen packages by clicking the
Install N package button. They are downloaded from the CRAN and installed, with all necessary depedencies.
Uninstalling a package can be done from the list of installed packages with a right click then
The up arrow on the top right opens the update manager.
You can manually select packages. A
Select all button can select all packages. Then click on the
Update N packages button to proceed.
Load and Unload Packages
The loaded packages in the list appear with a
🔌 symbol. A double click on the package loads or unloads it depending on its state. This can also be done with a right click ->
